Dwight's New ReleasesDwight's new record, Blame the Vain, has been getting rave reviews. The self-produced album has racked up positive reviews from a variety of publications, which all focus on the fact that Dwight is back and as good or better than he ever was.Meanwhile, New West Records has just released the DVD of Dwight Yoakam Live from Austin Texas. This is Dwight's 1988 performance on Austin City Limits and it is HOT! It also includes some songs that were never aired on the original program. Check out Dwight twisting his way around the stage on DVD...it's like you can reach out and touch him!

Dwight's Busy with New FilmsDwight's movie career is in full swing with two new films in the can and two in pre-production. In Bandidas, Dwight co-stars with Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek; the film is due out in February.In The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, he plays the sheriff against Tommy Lee Jones' lead character, who is out to bury his best friend in the small town in Mexico where he grew up. This film was a winner at the Cannes Film Festival and should be a bright spot in Dwight's film career. It opens in limited release in late December, 2005.
Dwight's also been cast in Liberating Paris with Billy Bob Thornton, based on the Linda Bloodworth-Thomason novel, and in Land of Canaan, co-starring Tara Reid.
Video Collections Available on DVDDwight's two video collections, Just Lookin' for a Hit and Pieces of Time, are out on DVD! These collections, originally released in 1989 and 1994, respectively, contain the videos from his biggest hits, including "Honky Tonk Man," Suspicious Minds," and "A Thousand Miles from Nowhere." Both Pieces of Time and Just Lookin' for a Hit are also available on VHS at Amazon.Hollywood Homicide Out on Home VideoHollywood Homicide, Dwight's 2003 movie with Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett, is available on VHS and DVD. This comedy is a cop "buddy picture" in which Dwight plays the bad guy.
